BM Bureau, August 6: Rakaskoppa water reservoir one of the major suppliers of water to Belagavi city has started overflowing from Friday afternoon according to reports from the authorities.
The maximum water level at the reservoir is 2182 ft and Thursday evening the water level had reached 2178 ft, due to which five crest gates were partially opened.
With increase in rainfall the water levels in all the reservoirs are rising. Rakaskoppa was filled to its capacity on July 30 last year. With this, water supplies issues to Belagavi have been resolved.
