KLS GIT students win prestigious championship

BM Bureau, August 31  : Students of KLS Gogte Institute of Technology’s ECE branch have won a prestigious championship in the recently held hackathon competition. Samsung Innovation Campus Hackathon 2024 was held on August 27 at BMS College of Engineering in Bengaluru, where over 500 teams across the region had participated. Arihant Patil and Aenessa Vaz of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, secured first prize at the prestigious Samsung Innovation Campus Hackathon 2024.

The event is part of Samsung Semiconductor India Research’s (SSIR) flagship CSR program, aimed at empowering students with skills in future-tech domains and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among the next generation of engineers. VTU Vice Chancellor Dr Vidyashankar S and MD of Samsung Semiconductor India Mr Balajee Sowriranjan were the judges in the final round.

“ Preparations were being made since April this year followed by a series of online sessions that introduced participants to cutting-edge domains like healthcare, AI, ML, IoT, and agriculture. Guided by their mentor, Ms Mangala Chikkana, assigned by the Samsung team, and under the expert advice of the CoCreate team, the KLS GIT team meticulously crafted their presentation. and the KLS GIT team secured the first prize in the final round, winning a cash prize of Rs 3 lakhs,” Principal MS Patil said.

This accomplishment is a testament to the quality of education and the nurturing environment at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Dr Patil added congratulating the staff and the students.
