BM Bureau, Oct 18 : Eminent Jesuit priest and former principal of St Pauls Highschool Fr Matthew Bardeskar S. J. was honoured for his committed & noble services towards the underprivileged rural children in Khanapur taluka. On Sunday, Lions Club of Belgaum Midtown, felicitated Fr Matthew at a function that was held at the Masonic Hall, at Camp, Belagavi. He was awarded with the ‘ Best Teacher Award’ for his noble service to the rural children.
Sangaragalli is a remote village in Khanapur taluk with a extremely poor road and internet/mobile connectivity. Fr Bardeskar has been serving at Sangargalli village from 2017 onwards. He began the school with just 4 students and now many students are pursuing their education in this school .
” I served in St. Paul’s School Camp Belagavi for 10 Years as a teacher & vice principal, however, the joy and satisfaction of serving the rural and underprivileged students is certainly rewarding,” Fr Matthew told Belgaum Mirror adding that his experience and good contacts with the urban society have always been of great assistance while continuing with this rural mission.
