BM Bureau, Feb 19 : As night life in Belagavi has begun rampantly after the Covid relaxations, night clubs and pubs in Belagavi city are seen thriving as youngsters and young couples are seen crowding them. As the matter of concern a young city coprorator from Ward No.7 Shankargouda Patil has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Belagavi asking him to restrcit these ativities that are being carried out reportedly flouting the norms.
Bringing it to the notice about the alarming rise in the number of new nightclubs and pubs in Belagavi. many youngsters are getting attracted to these clubs leading to a lot of malpractices including liquor/ drug addiction. Patil has urged authorities to
- Close these nightclubs and pubs completely closed by 11 p.m.
- No free admission to anyone, regardless of gender. (Entry for ladies is given free)
- There will be no free drinks served to anyone, regardless of gender.
- No rooms will be given to unmarried couples who do not have proof of identity and details.
- If an error occurs, the management should be held accountable.
I strongly urge that you investigate this problem thoroughly and take appropriate action. If the Administration does not take significant action, then there will be tremendous rise in illegal activities in the city, Shankar Patil has stated in his memorandum.
