BM Bureau: Surviving amid challenging times, the poultry farmers in the region who have faced tough times have now come together and formed an association in the name of Belgaum Taluka Poultry Farmers Association.
The association was inaugurated in presence of Belagavi MP and former Karnataka CM Jagdish Shettar. Speaking on the occasion he said that the poultry business is related to agriculture and farmers have got a big support from this business. “ Farmers have been hit by crop losses in recent years due to climatic and other factors. The emerging poultry business has saved the farmers from financial losses, resulting in the rise of the number of poultry farms which is a welcome development. As your MP I am committed to get schemes from the government for promoting this business,” Shettar said.
Former Legislative Council Member Mahantesh Kavatgimath also lauded the initiative of forming the association stating that this was the need of the hour as the poultry industry is going through various challenges.
Appreciating the formation of association Dr Madhukar Pawar of Kwality Feeds said that that every owner should have better management of feeds along with medicines, and strictly follow the rules of the association.
